This year’s Diwali was bleak for a lot of households in India as a lot of us, lost our dear one’s and usually when someone passes away, the family doesn’t celebrate the festivals of that particular year and so was the case with us as well.
I lost my dearest uncle in May due to covid. After my father, he was the closest father figure that we could relate with and losing him so soon after papa was a shock that our entire family is still coming to terms with.
So this year’s Diwali was just about doing the rituals, thanking God for everything that went well and paying our respect.
My younger sister’s friend, Saif, mostly joins us for the day and we have created our own little ritual with him where he gets a lantern or two and we light it up together.
So here’s my little video of how I started my day and how I ended it with little things in between.
